Cosmetic dentistry for the smile you really want

There’s more to dentistry than filling teeth and helping you maintain great oral health.

We all want to make the best of our appearance – for professional as well as social reasons – and thanks to so many major advances in dental expertise and technology, we can now have the teeth and smile we all want and many of us dream of.

Here at Rock House, we have all the facilities, expertise and experience to straighten, lighten, reshape, repair and replace teeth using a wide range of. cosmetic treatments including tooth whitening, veneers, implants, crowns and bridges, dentures and braces.

Here’s some more information about each of these treatments and procedures. Don’t hesitate to contact any member of the Rock House team if you would like to talk about any of these options in more detail.

Damian Murphy has 20 years experience in implant procedures and has built up a reputation for excellence in this specialist field.

Both new and current patients as well as referrals from other dental practices are always welcomed for an implant consultation.

During your implant consultation, we take the time to fully understand your dental needs. This will include taking your dental and medical history and making a full dental assessment, which may include the taking of x-rays to help determine the bone levels and underlying structure of your mouth.

We then discuss the different treatment options available for you.

The implant process will be comprehensively explained to you, and all your questions answered.

You will also be provided with a written treatment plan outlining the different treatment options available as well as detailing the timescale and costs involved. (Please note that there is an initial implant consultation fee of £120.)

Implant management

Fitting dental implants is now safe, commonplace and a very effective way of dealing with a wide variety of dental problems.

However, the bone tends to generate faster around implants than around natural teeth which makes it really important for implant patients to have regular check-ups and monitor their bone loss and gums health.

Periodontal issue prevention is another area of expertise within the Rock House team. If you have concerns, ask your dentist.

Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that offers a discreet and comfortable alternative to traditional braces. Using a series of clear, custom-made aligners, Invisalign gradually shifts teeth into their desired positions. These removable aligners are nearly invisible, making the treatment aesthetically appealing and allowing individuals to maintain a natural smile throughout the process.

The Invisalign process begins with a detailed digital scan of the patient’s teeth, enabling the creation of a personalized treatment plan. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are removable, facilitating easier oral hygiene routines and allowing for the enjoyment of a diverse diet without restrictions.

Patients typically change to a new set of aligners every two weeks, with each set designed to incrementally adjust tooth alignment. The gradual nature of the adjustments minimizes discomfort. Invisalign is suitable for various orthodontic issues, including misalignments, crowding, and gaps between teeth.

The convenience, aesthetic appeal, and effectiveness of Invisalign have made it a popular choice for individuals seeking orthodontic correction. Regular check-ups with a dentist or orthodontist monitor progress, ensuring the desired results are achieved, and patients can enjoy a straighter, healthier smile with enhanced confidence.

If you are unhappy with the colour of your teeth, we can make them whiter.

As time goes by, healthy teeth tend to go darker or yellow and pick up stains from tea, coffee, red wine, smoking or foods rich in colour. Fortunately, we can reverse these shade changes by tooth whitening.

At Rock House Dental Practice we believe that there is only one really reliable way of producing a long lasting whitening of your teeth and that’s by taking a mould of your teeth which is sent to the technician who makes a gum shield which will hold the whitening agent against your teeth.

It’s painless, effective and long-lasting.

A veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the appearance of a tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface from damage.

There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and dental porcelain.

A composite veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or fabricated from porcelain by a dental technician in a dental laboratory, and later bonded to the tooth.

At Rock House we will advise you on the best veneer solution for your specific circumstances and we will then produce and fit whichever veneer is appropriate.

Composite bonding is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that involves the application of a tooth-colored resin material to enhance the appearance of teeth. This versatile technique addresses various aesthetic concerns such as chipped, discolored, or misshapen teeth. The process begins with the dentist preparing the tooth surface, after which the composite resin is skillfully sculpted and bonded to the tooth.

Composite bonding is known for its ability to seamlessly blend with natural teeth, providing a discreet and aesthetically pleasing result. The material is customizable to match the shade and contour of surrounding teeth, ensuring a harmonious and natural-looking smile.

This non-invasive procedure typically requires minimal tooth reduction, preserving more natural tooth structure compared to other restorative options. Composite bonding is a relatively quick and cost-effective solution, often completed in a single dental visit. While it is a cosmetic enhancement, composite bonding can also address functional issues, reinforcing weakened teeth.

With proper care and maintenance, including regular dental check-ups, composite bonding can offer long-lasting improvements to the appearance and integrity of the treated teeth, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking a conservative yet impactful smile transformation.
